Thal Divebomb and Collision is Broken :(

Description

Note: Before/After Videos in Comments!

Thal is taking more environmental collision [Large Crest not working] and other grounded dinosaurs and maybe not applying impact damage [to other thals?] with divebomb in the latest patch [significantly less damage is occuring, though the collision taken from a grounded target seems normal only when divebombing]. Attached are videos and screenshots showing clips of this happening. Unable to test with actual damage values, as when we tried a community deathmatch, and we were not able to replicate. This appears to be an issue on official servers only?

Upon further testing [screen shot in comments] divebomb impact damage looks fine, but environmental collision and collision from grounded dinosaurs is higher than before.

Please gift BT Rex or Mira to Iru [765-991-165] who helped with testing AND a BT Spino for Oucyan who did a test in the Switch Version of the game as a damage comparison and has posted in comments [179-677-887]

Observed Result

Thal is taking more collision damage from the environment and other grounded dinosaurs and not doing the expected damage when divebombing targets

Expected Result

Divebomb to work as it did prior and thal to not take extra collision damage from environment or collision from grounded dinosaurs

Steps to Reproduce

1

Go on official servers and divebomb a thal

2

Target if thal will receive almost no damage [if colliding into the environment or another dinosaur when not divebombing, more will be taken than usual as well]

evidence from latest patch, in single player may also be effecting other flyers [untested]

After being fixed, this issue has now been regressed in the latest patch [along with Thal having an extra minute of fast flight stamina]

Re: this, what does "..due to collision damage now being higher across the board" mean?. Has the base amount of Collision damage increased for every flyer, or every dino? If it is for flyers, then all other flyers without a mitigating ability like Large Crest are going to take more damage? If so, that seems a really punitive change: flyers already take comparatively ridiculous amounts of collision damage on environmentals, and when engaging in aerial attacks against both other flyers in the air, and ground based dinos.

Heya! I wanted to confirm that on the next patch that both of these are fixed. There is an issue I have forwarded to the design team who handles the balancing side of things. Basically the collision damage was changed in how it's calculated. This has resulted in Large Crest now not providing enough damage reduction due to collision damage now being higher across the board.
