Cannot eat corpse when they died on mud pile

After killing a Cera on a mud pile, I was unable to interact with the body at all. could not eat it, chunk it, or take a trophy/eyeball from it.

Unable to eat from a body that died on mud even after clearing the mud pile itself. Corpse could not be interacted with.

I should have been able to interact with and eat/chunk the body as normal on any other terrain.
