Tree protruding from the ground

A tree is protruding from the ground exposing an untextured visual of the lower part of the tree

Went into Aperture Pass on Panjura and came across a tree whose lower extremities were protruding out of the ground awkwardly exposing an unfinished and untextured visual

I’m assuming either the lower part of the tree was supposed to be fully covered by the ground, or the root system was supposed to be exposed but polished up and fully detailed
