search critter option dissapear

After picking up a critter and putting it back down, it removes the option to search it for the collect quests.

Only happens when you can pick up the whole critter, picking up a chunk does not remove the option to search it.

I mainly noticed this because i killed it then immediately went to pick it up to eat it without realising i could search it for a quest, and when i went to put it back down the option was gone.

Also it turns into "meat chunk" rather than the critter name it was before you pick it up

Picking up a critter that has not been searched causes the search option to be removed.

For the search option to stay after putting the critter back down.
